Construction worker

The family of a worker who was killed in a construction accident at Kyle Field earlier this month has filed suit against six construction companies and contractors related to the project, accusing the defendants of negligence and inadequate safety policies. The lawsuit was filed at the 80th District Court in Houston on behalf of Angel Garcia’s mother, Josephina Garcia, claiming that the suit will help Angel’s family begin the process of rebuilding their lives after such a devastating loss. FATAL CONSTRUCTION SITE FALL ACCIDENT

According to reports, 28-year-old Angel Garcia fell to his death on December 3, while working for Lindamood Demolition, Inc., a subcontractor for the redevelopment project at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. Attorneys representing the Garcia family state in the lawsuit that Angel was catapulted off of a fourth-floor ramp when a portion of concrete fell onto the skid steer loader he was operating, causing the loader to fall and eject him.

Following the accident, Garcia was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, where he died from his construction accident injuries. In the wrongful death lawsuit, the Garcia family claims that the companies involved in the Kyle Field project – Manhattan Construction Co., Inc.; J.T. Vaughn Construction, LLC; Texas Curb Cut, Inc.; Manhattan | Vaugh, JVP; Texas Cutting & Coring Group, Inc.; and Lindamood Demolition, Inc. – violated workplace safety regulations established by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Construction sites are inherently dangerous for employees, especially those who work around heavy machinery like cranes and bucket loaders, but employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthful work environment for their workers. Unfortunately, when employers cut corners or ignore safety protocol to save time or money, it increases the risk of serious construction accident injuries or fatalities. If you have suffered accident injuries in Texas, or if you lost a loved one in a fatal job site accident, contact our knowledgeable attorneys at Bandas Law Firm to discuss your legal options. You may be entitled to financial compensation for your losses, which our lawyers can help you pursue.
