MOTORCYCLE, PICKUP TRUCK INVOLVED IN FATAL COLLISION
According to Venus Police Chief R.L. Young, the collision involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck, and at the time of the accident, both vehicles were traveling east on Highway 67. The two vehicles ended up colliding, and the pickup truck rolled several times, finally coming to a rest in the center median. Young reported that, after the initial accident, a third vehicle drove by and struck some debris in the roadway. The driver lost control and drove into a ditch alongside the road, but did not suffer any injuries. The driver of the pickup, a 43-year-old man from Dallas, was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital with serious injuries. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
