Former Police Officer Killed In Texas Motorcycle Accident

A tragic motorcycle accident in Texas took the life of an off-duty police officer this week, and local authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal collision. The crash took place on the morning of May 27, when an SUV pulled out in front of the motorcycle being ridden by 38-year-old John Libby II. Libby reportedly collided with the Jeep and sustained fatal injuries in the wreck. If you have been injured in a serious motorcycle accident in Texas, or if you lost a loved one in a fatal collision, contact our reputable motorcycle accident attorneys at Bandas Law Firm to discuss your legal options. According to officers who responded to the scene of the fatal motorcycle accident, Libby was driving north on Custer Road at the intersection of Cotton Ridge Road at about 11:50 a.m. on May 27, when he collided with a Jeep that pulled out in front of him while attempting to make a turn onto Custer Road. The fatal motorcycle accident took place on the border of Frisco and McKinney, the latter of which is where Libby served as an officer for nearly six years after moving to Texas from New Jersey. In the aftermath of the collision between the motorcycle and SUV, a nurse passing by attempted to administer CPR to Libby, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet when the accident occurred. Libby was then transported to Baylor Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his extensive injuries.
