Two Killed In Fiery Three-Vehicle Trucking Accident In Texas

At least two people were killed last week in a devastating accident involving two trucks and a pickup hauling a flatbed in Baylor County, Texas. The collision, which took place at about 1:15 p.m. on May 9, sparked a fire and hazardous material was spilled on U.S. 277 near Bomarton as a result of the wreck. If you have suffered Texas trucking accident injuries, or if you lost a loved one in a fatal accident, contact our reputable truck accident attorneys at Bandas Law Firm today. Our lawyers have years of experience protecting the legal rights of trucking accident victims throughout the state, and will work diligently to help you pursue the financial compensation you deserve for your accident injuries, medical expenses, and pain and suffering.

According to Randy West, a truck driver from Tennessee who was hauling pipe on his rig, a pickup truck traveling north on U.S. 277 swerved into the southbound lanes, struck his truck, and then collided head-on with an oncoming tanker truck driving just behind West. Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Brody Moore reported that no one was transported to the hospital following the deadly trucking accident, in which at least two vehicles burned in the middle of the Texas highway. Moore reported that there was an initial explosion from the tanker truck, which was believed to be full of fuel, after the truck was jack-knifed. Following the collision, a small grass fire started and firefighters doused the tanker truck with foam after letting excess fuel burn off for roughly three hours. According to witnesses, another vehicle, possibly a minivan, may have also been involved in the Texas trucking accident.

Trucking accidents are a major cause of injury and death in Texas and throughout the United States, with more than 100,000 people injured and more than 5,000 killed in U.S. collisions involving semi-trucks and tractor-trailers in 2010 alone. Unfortunately, due to the sheer size and weight of big-rigs, occupants of passenger cars or trucks involved in Texas trucking accidents are typically the ones who suffer the most devastating consequences. If you have been injured in a trucking accident in Corpus Christi, or elsewhere in Texas, consult our knowledgeable lawyers at Bandas Law Firm for legal help. You may be entitled to reimbursement for your injuries and medical bills, which you can pursue by filing a personal injury lawsuit against the person or party found at-fault in the collision.
