A motorcyclist was killed and a young boy was injured in a collision at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Elgie in Beaumont this week. According to the Beaumont Police Department, the motorcyclist, 23-year-old Eduardo Deleon, was traveling south on MLK Drive when a Nissan Maxima pulled out in front of him on the roadway and the two vehicles collided. Motorcycle Accident Injuries, Fatality
According to the Beaumont Police Department, the deadly motorcycle accident in Texas took place just before midnight on July 10, as the driver of the Maxima was attempting to turn north onto MLK Drive from Elgie. As the Maxima entered the intersection, it was struck by Deleon’s motorcycle on the driver’s-side back passenger door, where a three-year-old child was seated in the backseat. Eduardo Deleon was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, and the male child was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with injuries. He was later airlifted to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. The driver of the Maxima was listed in stable condition at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
