Mike is a trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience representing individuals and families in complex, high-stakes litigation. His practice focuses on serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, including catastrophic injuries, trucking and transportation accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and other matters involving life-changing harm.
A seasoned litigator, Mike has tried numerous cases to verdict as first chair in both jury and bench trials. He has also handled injunction hearings, depositions, mediations, and appeals, and has managed every phase of complex litigation, from initial investigation and case development through trial and appeal.
Mike’s experience on both sides of the courtroom gives his clients a distinct advantage. Earlier in his career, he represented insurance companies, businesses, and other defendants in personal injury, commercial, employment, and insurance litigation, and he served as corporate counsel to major companies. As a result, he understands how insurers, corporations, defense attorneys, and their experts evaluate and defend significant claims, and he uses that insight on behalf of the people he represents.
Mike earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the South Texas Law Review, and his Bachelor of Science in Business from Oklahoma Christian University. He is licensed in Texas and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has also completed the Basic Forty-Hour Mediator Training.
