PICKUP TRUCK CROSSED CENTER LINE
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas A&M students were traveling west on Highway 105 near Goode City Road when a pickup truck driven by 35-year-old Ramon Polanco crossed the center line and into the path of their Hyundai Sonata. The driver of the Sonata, a student named Pranav Kannan, swerved to avoid the pickup truck, but the two vehicles collided head-on and in the aftermath of the wreck, the students were trapped inside their vehicle for a total of 30 minutes before they could be removed by emergency crews. Two victims of the devastating Texas car accident – 22-year-old Akshay Jain and 24-year-old Ishan Bajaj – were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in very critical condition. The three other students were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
