18-Wheeler Rear-Ended Woman’s Sedan

According to the Pasadena Police Department, the deadly truck accident in Texas took place on the morning of October 27, in the westbound lanes of Highway 225, near Preston Road. Investigators have reported that, prior to the wreck, several empty plastic containers had blown off a trailer being towed by a pickup truck traveling in front of the deceased driver. The woman slowed her car as the driver of the pickup truck pulled off the road to retrieve the loose containers, but the driver of the 18-wheeler apparently didn’t see her apply her brakes. The tractor-trailer then slammed into the rear of the woman’s sedan and rolled on top of the vehicle, killing the driver. The woman, who has yet to be identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rescue crews who responded to the scene of the trucking accident had to cut through the twisted wreckage to remove the driver of the sedan, and it took several hours for investigators to be sure that the woman was the only person inside the vehicle. “We’re still investigating the incident to see if and when any charges will be filed,” said Vance Mitchell, a spokesperson for the Pasadena Police Department. The driver of the semi-truck reportedly suffered injuries to his right arm, and was treated at a Pasadena hospital before being released.
